WE BELIEVE the basis of our relationship with God is the grace, mercy, and forgiveness shown to us through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins. Being an authentic Christian means living the life of the Spirit.

WE BELIEVE the basis of our fellowship with each other is God’s unconditional love placed in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We believe that the love of God transcends any differences between us and that we can love those whom God loves.

WE BELIEVE that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are members of God’s universal church and so we embrace the amazing riches of the teachings of historic Christianity based on the revealed Word of God found in the Old and New Testaments.

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the only and one revelation of the heart, mind and will of God for His creation. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and the one and final authority for life.

WE BELIEVE that we are all sinners and selfish by nature and it is our sin that has separated us from God. This condition of the soul can only be resolved by God’s free gift of forgiveness and new life in Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE that the historic person known as Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. As true God and true man He allowed himself to be born of a virgin and through His sinless life, He taught men and women how to live. We believe that he was crucified on a cross, buried in a tomb, and was resurrected from the dead. His victory over the grave is our hope of eternal life.

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit persuades us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. He lives in us and teaches us. He provides for our growth in grace at every stage of our spiritual journey, enabling us to live a victorious life through His power and presence.

WE BELIEVE that one day Jesus Christ will return again in glory to establish his kingdom forever.

WE BELIEVE in the two sacraments instituted by our Lord: Baptism and Communion. They can serve as a means of grace in the life of all believers. The first, water baptism, is a sign of an inward identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Communion, or, the Lord’s Supper, is a demonstration of our receiving the forgiveness available through the broken body and spilled blood of Jesus Christ.

We are a community church, classical in our beliefs, but contemporary in style. We base all things on the Bible. We believe that people have lost their way and can only find it with God’s help. The greatest discovery in life is that God loves us and has provided us with Jesus. Through him, God has revealed what life looks like at it’s best.

WE BELIEVE that church government should be simple, so we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead us through our local church leadership team, pastoral staff and our denominational leaders.

HUMILITY - Somebody once said, “If you find a perfect church don’t go there you’ll just ruin it!” Since arrogance isn’t attractive to anyone, we freely recognize and admit what the New Testament teaches that we are all sinners and in need of God’s forgiveness. No one can boast of having “arrived” spiritually. This impacts the way we view each other and keeps us from thinking too highly of ourselves and leads us to treat one another with respect.

AUTHENTICITY - Over the years, hypocrisy has been one of the main complaints people have had against the church. The Bible reveals that Jesus, too, despised the trait. While we are not perfect, we do seek to be honest in our relationships with God and with each other. We boast only of what Jesus does and not of ourselves. Transparency and openness are our goal.

INTEGRITY - We believe that God is holy and that He has created us in His image, God expects us to emulate His holiness. That means that we commit ourselves to not only believing certain facts about our faith, but yielding to the Holy Spirit who will transform our thoughts, attitudes and behavior. Desiring spiritual maturity means that we make our “walk” match our talk.

ACCOUNTABILITY - We recognize our need for input from others. We acknowledge that each of us, including our pastoral staff and laity can benefit from the perspective of others and that by encouraging accountability we can sharpen each other’s faith walk. We do this by cultivating the habits of encouraging, exhorting, and praying for each other.

DIVERSITY - We recognize the human tendency to gravitate to those who look, think, act just like we do and so we desire to make a concerted effort to reach out beyond our own cultural comfort zones. We recognize that believers can sometimes disagree on a variety of secondary issues and so we intentionally allow for flexibility. We agree with the Wesleyan maxim: “In the essentials-unity. In the non-essentials, in all things-charity.”

CREATIVITY - We believe that creativity began with the Creator of everything that exists. As our Creator, God has placed within us gifts, abilities and talents to be used creatively in the life of the God’s Body, the church. We are committed to helping believers discover those gifts.

VIBRANCY - We believe that faith in God should be dynamic, never routine or static. We will not allow our worship of God to be trivial or marginal. We want to avoid spiritual complacency and will seek to stimulate and challenge one another in ways that will stir up a living and vibrant faith.
